After graduating from Berklee College of Music, Justin Shturtz moved to New York City and started working at Right Track Recording Studios. There, he assisted Elliot Scheiner, Frank Filipetti and other well established engineers.

He also worked alongside world renown producer Phil Ramone and hip hop duo The Neptunes. After going through the ranks, Justin worked as a Pro Tools Engineer, recording large orchestras for Broadway cast albums including Boy from Oz, and such films as The Producers.  Justin also has done some freelance recording engineer work for Grammy award winners Los Lonely Boys and hip hop star LL Cool J.

In 2006, Justin Shturtz joined the Sterling Sound staff as Ted Jensen’s Mastering Assistant.  He continues to work with Ted on a variety of artists including releases from Alice in Chains, Green Day, Yeah Yeah Yeahs to Chevelle as well as mastering his own projects.
